This is the first time I have set up a blog myself so I'm still tweaking this thing. I have the comment section set up now so that anyone can leave their thoughts, so please do!
This blog is intended to be about dialog between musicians, don't be afraid to use that comment link to share your thoughts.

the 'singer/songwriter' genre is a landscape dominated by acoustic solo artists.the songs are often sad, about downcast heart and the misunderstood souls who sing them.yawn.it's something different to try and write for the audience instead of from a place of lonely self-indulgence.i wish more singer/songwirter's would get their heads out of their coffee and sing something catchy.
Dear Anonymous,
Catchy is great, and I think there are lots of local solo artists doing amazing things, and who really try to craft great songs. Thanks for your comment.

I am long past singing songs of woe and sorrow for my self, I have bigger fish to fry, with issues of justice, peace, and beauty to tackel. Though I can't say I'm not self indulgent, I still wright and record for myself first, that is where the creativity comes from.
Performance, now that is where the listener/viewer comes in. I always try and give the audiance something exciting they have never seen or heard before.
Hope you are able to make it out to the workshop.
